Sak Yant Chiang Mai is a small operation dedicated to providing an amazing and highly personalized experience to all our guests. This has made Sak Yant Chiang Mai very popular and we are usually booked 1-2 weeks ahead of time. While we do sometimes offer an after hours service to walk-in customers, this incurs an additional 1000 baht cost per hour to cover additional staff salaries and compensate the Sak Yant Masters for their time. Wonderful experience from start to finish. Very reasonable prices as service is excellent. Went to a Wat where an Arjan did two sak yant. Carefully placed and with the kata designed for my specific intentions. (I highly recommend the traditional method-not the modern tattoo machine method—as it is very fast and less painful.)

Ploy and Cody were amazing. Ploy taught me about the different meanings of the sak yant and gave me descriptions of each one. It was my first time and Chiang Mai and and first sak yant and she was so helpful. I ended up getting 4. I had a full sleeve already on one arm with a traditional gun tattoo and I have to say this hurts less and is even enjoyable if you really want it and go there for the experience. Cody talked to me throughout the process and brought me coffee and water and took videos and pics from my phone just to do it he was awesome. Ajarn Sam was incredible he worked so fast and he was so friendly and I got exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend this place and to book early if you’re serious they get pretty busy because the work they do is worth it!

I highly recommend this place for your Sak Yant. It was truly a wonderful experience and I fully intend on coming back here if I'm ever in Chiang Mai again. Ploy was the first person I met at their offices and immediately put me at ease. She's such a genuine, warm and kind soul - one of the English speaking 'guides' who will translate and can advise you on your design choice (& there's a huge amount of choice), it's meaning and communicate any personalisation you would like in the prayer or symbols. The Arjan/monk will also ask if you have any specific intentions you would like accommodations for. For example, I chose the Golden Swan, only one of the twins, and had some tweaks changed to take out the charisma/popularity elements.
Your guide, in my case Ploy, will take pictures and video throughout on your device. They leave you alone with the Arjan but will check in every 5-10mins. The whole tattooing portion took around 30mins. Then you'll have a blessing on tattoo, activating it's power through mantras etc, and then another when a bracelet is placed on you.
You can also choose to have a mala blessed and they have a lovely selection onsite to choose from.
I did a lot of research and I appreciate their cooperative project to keep Sak Yants both authentic and fair to tourists.
The whole thing really was a profound experience and I'm grateful for Ploy and the Arjan for their kindness. Thank you so much!

Wonderful experience! Really knowledgeable, welcoming, and patient staff. I wanted to move the positioning of my tattoo several times and the Arjan and assistant were very understanding. I was able to film the entire experience. This photo is of my tattoo on day 7 healing very nicely. It wasn’t any more painful than a regular tattoo and actually maybe less painful because no shading! The blessing was beautiful and made me very emotional. 10/10 recommend

Wow. I have been in Thailand for years now and have not experienced anything like this. This must be one of the best, if not the best experience i’ve had here! Sak Yant Chiang Mai is a good place to get your sak yant if you’re thinking about getting one. They take really good care of you and do the best they can to give you the best time.
Nothing bad to say about this place. They are just incredible kind, helpful and caring. I deffinetly reccomend Sak Yant Chiang Mai!

We have standardized the cost of the Sak Yant depending on time and complexity, and among different Ajarns. As a co-op we have set a price that does not include the commission you pay to Taxi’s or other part time tour guides. For example what we offer for 2000 baht could cost you 3-4 times more in Phuket and 5 times more in Bangkok at places like the Thai Tattoo Cafe

First and most importantly Sak Yant Chiang Mai are the only place that Monks come to us to preform Sak Yant Tattoos – That in itself is as close to an official stamp of approval anyone can get.
Second, we have a variety of Monks and Ajarns that work with us, other providers have only one option. We can customize the experience, others provide a package with limited choice of design selection.
Third We offer both Tours to Temples for a Sak Yant for those wanting the traditional full on experience, and In-House for those on a budget or limited time.
Fourth We do NOT get commissions from Monks or Ajarns (as we are a co-operative), in fact we have arranged for cheaper donations as we bring daily guests.
Fifth We offer before and after experience care. Tattoo Shops are not able to provide Real and Authentic Sak Yant Tattoos and there is a BIG DIFFERENCE between a Tattoo Artist trying to scam tourists and a Sak Yant Master who dedicates their lives to providing Genuine Sak Yant Tattoos in Chiang Mai
